Polyamory: A Future

As a teenager, Rohit recalls his childhood memories. The teacher citing the story about a princess, who is in dilemma of choosing in between five male suitors to pursue her life further. “Mam, why couldn’t she marry all of them, they all love her”, asked Rohit.

“They can’t” Teacher frowned in awe.

Polyamory is coined through two root words Poly meaning many and Amour meaning love hence “many loves” or Polyamory.  It is the nonpossessive, honest, responsible and ethical philosophy and practice of loving multiple people simultaneously. It emphasizes consciously choosing how many partners one wishes to be involved with rather accepting social norms of loving only one person at a time. It is an umbrella term which integrates traditional mutipartner relationship terms with more evolved egalitarian terms.  Polyamory embraces sexual equality and all sexual orientations towards an expanded circle of spousal intimacy and love. Of course, love itself is a rather ambiguous term, but most polys seem to define it as a serious, intimate, romantic, or less stable, affectionate bond which a person has with another person or group of persons.  This bond usually, though not necessarily always, involves sex.  Sexual love or romance are other words which have been coined to describe this kind of love.  Other terms often used as synonyms for polyamory are responsible, ethical or intentional non-monogamy.

It is an ongoing revolution, people are changing and adapting to polyamory. It doesn’t just pop into air it exist within the society, in form of polygamy and polyandry i.e. having multiple wife and husband respectively. Both of them still practiced in some part of world and even legalized some of the country. In India, according to Hindu Marriage act polygamy is illegal for a majority of the groups, a person can only have one spouse at a time but, Muslims, Scheduled caste, Schedule tribes and Hindu residing in Goa doesn’t fall under the law and may have many spouses. Similarly, Polyandry is rare but, still practiced in Tibet. They practice a special kind of polyandry i.e. Fraternal Polyandry in layman word, husbands are often brothers. Sometimes children are not sure who their real fathers are. Tibetan women have traditionally lived with one brother at a time while the others were away fighting, herding, trading or spending time in a monastery. The oldest brother is generally regarded as the father of the children, who refer to all the brother-husbands as father. The custom is believed to have evolved to make the inheritance of property an easier process and prevent the breakup of plots of land. After the invasion of China in Tibet this practice is at edge of extinction, however still practiced by rural tribes of Tibetans. It is still illegal but Chinese government liberalise as part of its population control measures.

Polyamory is mixed concept, it means multiple love partner or multiple sexual partner though it also referred as multiple husbands and multiple wife, which working like a web, where the concept of love goes beyond boundaries no one really knows who the real ancestor is? The time slips to its dawn again, in the beginning, where your love is for all. Everyone deserve that. You don’t really know your real descendants? So, you shared among all. But will it become successful? Will society accept it? Will everyone becomes adaptable? As of now it isn’t neither here nor in western countries.

Polyamory will have its own impact over society just like the two sides of coin having a beneficial and the other nefarious. Polyamory affect society in various ways. Fulfilling desires & sexual appetite of a person plus retaining the sexual desire for a long time. It will be responsible for the spreading sexually transmitted diseases gradually which may leads to end of a whole family at a point of time. Similarly, it will reduce the genetically strength of offspring they’ll have. On another hand, if a women or men are infertile and couldn’t conceive a child they can still claim others as self.

However it’s not gainsaying it will take much time, huge revolutionaries and greater movement to make it acceptable within the society. As of now, we couldn’t definitely say, how will it work out? But, it’s there in the upcoming future waiting for Rohit & you to cry out loud.

120 Seconds Of Love

Smooth winds touching the soul, Butterflies in stomach. It was a divine new feeling for her. The all new eternal experience, A moment where all carving stops a sudden, and start a sudden.

She was dreaming, leaning onto chair in veranda, looking the horizon. The sky seems orange but she didn’t notice. Her mind was full with the incident from last night. The guy in blue, shaved chin, buffed with muscle like a perfect man.

“I wish I could meet him, again.”
And everything fades from her eyes

slide1-medium

Next morning,
Honk! Honk! Peep! Peep!
“120,119,118…… Augh!
What! Is he the same guy standing over there? Yeah! look like him, still not sure. “

And then she got a glimpse, He was same guy, standing other side near the flower shop.

“Got you ! 10, 9, 8…” She exclaimed

But soon, A bus came and the guy fades.

All she wants, was an email or a contact to have conversation, to meet again. But it was disaster for her. She can’t.

The truth beside Love, Accidents that actually happen apart from book.
